Susanna and her family are going to Poland for the first time since they moved to Iceland six years ago. Susanna is criticized in Poland for not being Polish enough and for making mistakes when she speaks - just like in Iceland. But through new friendships and getting to know the history of Poland, Iceland, and Europe she comes to terms with her origin and realizes that having a double nationality is a strength.
